ABOUT ME
I'm Akinyemi. I design and build websites that people actually understand in seconds. I have always wanted a skill. Something I could point to and say, this is mine, I built this. I didn't find design through a big idea or a class project. I found it through something small and almost silly: I couldn't stand when things weren't aligned.
A misaligned button or a spacing that felt off would bother me more than it should have. That obsession pulled me into design before I even understood what UI/UX meant as a career. It was just a hobby then, something I did for fun between lectures and lab reports.
Somewhere along the way, the hobby got serious. I started noticing that the same obsession, the need for things to sit right, to make sense, to not confuse anyone, was actually a skill people paid for. So I decided to stop keeping it as a side thing and turn it into what I do.
Now I design and build websites. I take products from a rough idea (or a site that's stuck and needs a redesign) to something people can actually use without thinking twice. The obsession hasn't changed. It just has clients now.
Design will always be a hobby to me first. I just happen to get paid for it too.
There's more to me than this page lets on. I've sat behind desks that had nothing to do with design. I've managed records most people never see. I've worked in rooms where the goal wasn't aesthetics, it was order. Some of it feels unrelated to design. Some of it explains exactly why I obsess over the details I do.
If you're curious how all of that connects, my CV has the rest of the story.
